Everything announced in GTA 6 Extended Look

After a long time waiting around for some further, concrete details about the highly-anticipated GTA 6, the GTA 6 Extended Look has premiered on Netflix (a world first for game trailers!) to give us a much closer look as to what we can expect from the city of Leonida, and the story of the protagonist couple, Jason and Lucia.

Below, you'll find everything shown off during the GTA 6 Extended Look:

Picking up for Boobie

The GTA 6 Extended Look has started with what I can only assume will be part of a story mission, and that's picking up drugs for a fella known as Boobie. Yes, Boobie. I'd love to say I was a mature, professional adult who didn't laugh at this, but alas, I definitely giggled.

You can pet dogs

A first for GTA (unless you've played GTA Online), you'll now be able to pet – and even scold or study – dogs in GTA 6. Ain't that nice!

There's cellulite and improved character animations

Hyper-realistic graphics and attention to detail are something we're not strangers to in 2026, but once in a blue moon, even I find myself surprised. GTA 6's characters have real, visible cellulite, and they move in a way that looks incredibly human, as opposed to the semi-robotic movements of characters back in GTA 5 and earlier games in the series.

I'm drawn to think of Red Dead Redemption 2's horse balls when thinking about this, honestly. It's clear, from the cellulite and character animations alone, that Rockstar looks to promote realism when it comes to its character models and world, more than ever before.

Classic GTA shootouts remain, with slow-motion moments

As we've come to expect from the GTA series, the GTA 6 Extended Look has concluded the pick-up scene with a classic GTA shootout, featuring bloody violence, gunplay, taking cover, and even slow-mo shooting moments that are akin to Red Dead Redemption 2's Deadeye mechanic. So far, things are looking incredibly smooth.

Carjacking is more complex

Breaking into and stealing cars is, of course, present in the GTA 6 Extended Look. A core component of the series, grand theft auto, is in the name of the game after all, so hotwiring the cars of strangers and driving off into the night is still very much, unsurprisingly, present.

You can do couple things, if you fancy

It's no news that at the forefront of GTA 6 is the protagonist couple of Jason and Lucia, and when you're not engaging in robberies together or completing story missions, you can work on your relationship with one another too. You can go ahead and bond with your significant other in conversation, seemingly go shopping together (we see Lucia ask Jason to pick a dress out for her, and Jason give the option to hurry her when getting ready), and ultimately, just hang out with one another as couples do. You can even press R2 to hold hands at some point... Cute.

Outrageous TV adverts

GTA 5 was privy to its fair share of eclectic television and radio adverts, and GTA 6 looks to be no different, with the GTA 6 Extended Look showing off two new commercials we can expect to see in-game. The first is for an antidepressant known as Angstipan, while the second is for a comical, gargantuan bit of food known as The Prairie Sandwich, which boasts a whopping 30,000 calories.

Given that we already know that GTA 6 is going to have mechanics regarding exercise and weight-gain, we can almost guarantee that The Prairie Sandwich isn't going to be great when it comes to keeping the couple in shape. Alas, it's nothing that a few trips to the gym – a mechanic we're used to from GTA: San Andreas – shouldn't fix.

The Safehouse is shown off

While Lucia gets ready to go out and Jason watches television, we also get a good look at the safehouse that we can assume Jason and Lucia will be lying low in between missions. The place is very pink, very much covered in animal print decor, and well, I assume it's all very Lucia. Maybe Jason has a knack for decorating how I wish I could though, who knows.

Hammer lady appears to be a recurring character

One of the unique NPCs to show up in the trailer is someone who we can safely call the hammer lady, as she's shown mindlessly hitting a car with a hammer in either hand. Given her exclamation of 'look who's back' upon Jason and Lucia approaching her, it's safe to suspect she'll be a recurring presence in Leonida, and there'll no doubt be other notable NPCs like her to keep our eyes peeled for.

Meeting Brian and Lori

The GTA 6 Extended Look next introduces us to another duo of characters that we can expect to meet, and that's the married couple Brian and Lori. Brian appears to be a long-time friend of Jason, and someone we can perhaps anticipate meeting multiple times during the events of the game.

Robberies galore

GTA 6 wouldn't be much of a GTA 6 game without robberies, and the GTA 6 Extended Look has shown off just a few of the points of interest that we can expect to rob blind during the game. We see the duo robbing a waffle house, a gas station, and more, so it's safe to assume that these are probably going to be plenty of smaller criminal activities you can engage in for some extra cash, should you need it.

Meeting Raul

The GTA 6 Extended Look also introduced us to Raul, showing a clip of Jason and Lucia picking him up as he's being pursued by the cops. This is then followed by a car chase (where Lucia is behind the wheel while Jason and Raul shoots at their pursuers), before the car is abandoned and blown up in a car-park and the group continue their escape in a back-up vehicle.

Firstly, I'm not only curious to learn more about Raul and the couple's relationship with the character, but it's becoming clear that – with the busy streets of Leonida – driving away from the cops is not always gonna be possible here. Maybe keeping Jason and Lucia in good shape is a good idea…

Side activities galore

The GTA Extended Look also treated us to a montage of different side activities you'll be able to engage in when you're not participating in heists, grand theft auto, or other criminal behaviour. Gotta spend all that cash on something, after all.

Throughout the trailer, we saw activities such as kayaking, swimming, scuba-diving, weightlifting, riding Lime-style scooters through the city, robbing stores (again), basketball, base jumping, target practice, car racing, jet skiing, fishing, dirt bike racing, drinking at bars/clubs, and more. There's also a portion that shows Jason/Lucia stealing a car, only to find a man stowed away in the trunk as part of the 'trunk challenge'… I'm not sure if that's a side activity per say, but it's certainly one of many interesting interactions we can gear ourselves up for.

Six-star wanted system remains, and we see the hotwheel

The six-star wanted system from prior games in the series has returned as we can see in the top-right corner of the below image, and we were also treated to a brief look at the item hot-wheel. How difficult six-stars will be to recover from – and achieve anonymity again – remains to be seen, but we can guess that it won't be easy.

Freely switching POVs

Like GTA 5, it appears you'll be able to freely switch between the POVs of both Jason and Lucia in GTA 6, so you can choose who you identify with the most and who you'd rather spend your time-playing as. You can, of course, spend time playing as both should you wish! This isn't a new reveal per say, as we did learn about the reactive world of Leonida and the ability to character switch earlier today.

Phil Collins mentioned

This might come as a surprise to you if you haven't played GTA: Vice City Stories, but there's a subtle nod to Phil Collins (who starred in the aforementioned game) during an elevator scene in the GTA 6 Extended Look. This might be a very brief and vague reference to the musician, but this definitely feels like a little Easter egg for Vice City fans.

Escort mission for a celebrity

During the trailer, we also got a brief look at what appears to be an escort mission, where Jason and Lucia act as both drivers, bodyguards, and general personal assistants for someone famous in the city of Leonida. In this segment, we see Jason walk in on the celeb and his friends racking up lines of cocaine in MegaMundo HQ's conference room. Meanwhile, a speech is delivered in the downstairs of the HQ that we see Lucia attending. There's trouble in paradise though, as the speech is rudely interrupted by another shootout.

Different fighting styles between Jason and Lucia, and texting each other details

During the aforementioned shootout, the GTA 6 Extended Look showed off Jason's gun-focused, take cover and fire combat style as he walked around the building taking out the attackers. We also see Lucia warning him via text as he does this, before the POV swaps to her side of events (and back again).

Lucia was shown to be a real badass, with her brutally fighting off an attacker with her heels and commenting 'try wearing them bitch'. I think this is more than enough to sell me on playing as her for much of my playthrough…

As Jason, we also got a brief glance at slow motion shooting. As I mentioned earlier, this definitely hails back to Red Dead Redemption 2's Deadeye mechanic, and I wonder how it plays out in-game.

Chihuahua in a dress

There's a chihuahua in a dress. That's it. No notes, but definitely notable.

Enjoy this dude, trust me

The ending of the 26 minute trailer ended on a slightly more serious note tonally, but not by much. We get another montage of all the happenings in Leonida, including fishing, clubbing, car meets and more accompanied by someone stressing the importance of 'enjoy this dude'. This feels rather poignant, and perhaps the whole point of GTA 6; just enjoy it, dude. (Or don't, that's okay too.)

The trailer concludes with a character saying 'trust me' as he shares a beer on a boat with Lucia, a line that has been said in both of the GTA 6 trailers released prior to this. This might just be a neat little bit of continuation between each trailer, but this could also be an attempt to put an emphasis on trust. The trust between Jason and Lucia, as part of their criminal couple dynamic, is no doubt going to end up playing a big part in the story in my opinion, but I am also just theory-crafting here. Don't shoot me.
