Principle Networks completes Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi rollout across Buzz Bingo estate

The completed deployment gives Buzz Bingo a cloud-managed wireless foundation as the operator accelerates a £25m venue transformation programme backed by Barclays.

UK bingo operators are investing heavily in in-venue digital infrastructure as omnichannel play demands reliable, centrally managed connectivity across large, varied property estates. Principle Networks confirmed on 27 October 2026 that it has completed the wireless access point deployment across Buzz Bingo’s UK club network, the first major milestone under a five-year managed IT partnership announced in February 2025.

Deployment complete across 80-club estate

Principle Networks has completed the deployment of approximately 1,000 Cisco Meraki wireless access points across Buzz Bingo‘s UK club estate, delivering a cloud-managed network infrastructure designed to support the operator’s digital services and in-venue customer experience.

The rollout spans 80 bingo clubs in England and Scotland and forms the first major deliverable under a five-year co-managed IT agreement signed in February 2025.

The Cisco Meraki platform is a cloud-managed enterprise wireless solution. Its use here allows Buzz Bingo’s IT team and Principle Networks to monitor, configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure centrally, rather than managing each venue independently, a significant operational advantage across a geographically dispersed estate where each building has a different physical layout and connectivity profile.

Infrastructure challenge across a varied property portfolio

Buzz Bingo’s clubs vary substantially in size, age and layout, making a uniform deployment approach impractical. Principle Networks conducted venue-level assessments to design access point placement and coverage maps tailored to individual sites, while maintaining a consistent management approach across the estate.

The cloud-managed architecture also supports IoT device integration and network security, both increasingly relevant as Buzz Bingo expands its in-club digital services, including electronic bingo touchpads and self-service kiosks.

David Cutts, Chief Technology Officer at Buzz Bingo, said:

‘The concept of bingo has evolved. Today, customers have a wide range of choices of how they want to play — and our omnichannel approach is unique — with technology sitting at the heart. Principle Networks demonstrated a deep understanding of our objectives and had the expertise required to deliver them.’

Russell Crowley, Co-CEO of Principle Networks, said:

‘For businesses operating across multiple locations, reliable connectivity is fundamental to delivering a consistent customer experience. But when every building is different, achieving that consistency requires more than simply installing new technology. Our work with Buzz Bingo demonstrates the importance of understanding how each location operates and designing infrastructure around its specific requirements.’

Part of a wider £25m transformation

The network upgrade sits within Buzz Bingo’s £25m club investment programme, which is supported by new funding from Barclays and covers new technology, modernised interiors, and upgraded food and drink across the estate.

Buzz Bingo reported its first combined admissions and revenue growth since 2007 during 2025, and said upgraded Wi-Fi and the rollout of more than 10,000 electronic bingo touchpads contributed to a 5.6% increase in electronic play.

Principle Networks will continue to work alongside Buzz Bingo’s internal IT team throughout the remaining term of the partnership to manage and evolve the network as the operator’s digital requirements develop.
